I´m supposed to write a birth plan, but this is my first time and I don’t know anything of what to expect and even less what to write. Is there any point with a birth plan in that case?
A birth plan is the result of you thinking through your coming delivery. It’s not complicated. Just begin to ask yourself: What do I think about pain relief, and write that down. That’s a good start. After that write down, for instance, whether you think that you want to move about a lot during the first stage of labour, whether you want to have a bath or shower. But most importantly, what you possibly feel anxious about, afraid of.
You can also discuss this with your midwife and/or at antenatal classes.
