Baby 9 weeks
At this age, many babies enjoy 'chatting' with those around them. This chatting mainly consists of the baby beginning to form and explore different types of vocal and vocal cord sounds. It may sound like speech, and it is not unusual that if you continue the conversation, you will get more sounds back. But you usually have to wait for the first word; most children start to approach words when they are around one year old. Imitation games are usually popular, so now you can fill up with lots of facial expressions, songs, laughter and eye contact when your baby is awake.
Parent
For many, the change in life before and after having children can be a real shock! Previously, you may have been used to doing things at your own pace and focusing on your own needs. But all that changes when a baby comes into your life. You eat in two minutes at the sink, go to the toilet with the door open and drink your coffee cold (again). Not to mention the lack of sleep... It can feel frustrating, and the life you had before parenthood feels so far away. How can you actually find time for yourself when you are a parent? The answer is that you often don't. At least not right now, and not in the same way as before the baby arrived. But it is possible to find new ways! With parenthood come new habits and new ways of living your life. You will learn to find new gems in your new everyday life. But it will be different, and it can be good to prepare yourself for the fact that it will take a while to get used to it. Try things out and see what you need to feel refreshed.
